Ex-minister of emergency situations Andranik Piloyan sentenced to over 4 years imprisonment on bribery charges

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 10, ARMENPRESS. Former Minister of Emergency Situations Andranik Piloyan has been found guilty of bribery by the Anti-Corruption Court.

Piloyan, a recipient of the Hero of Armenia title, has been sentenced to 4 years and 5 months imprisonment. The ex-official will also have to pay a 1,3 million dram fine. The court also imposed a 3-year ban on Piloyan from holding certain public offices.

Andranik Piloyan was found guilty of abuse of power, accepting large amounts of bribes, as well as grand embezzlement and conspiracy to commit embezzlement.
