YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 26, ARMENPRESS. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has held a meeting with President of Poland Andrzej Duda, who is in Armenia on an official visit.
Welcoming the Polish President, the Armenian PM said he attaches great importance to his visit in terms of further developing the relations between Armenia and Poland. He said there is big untapped potential for development of ties. “Of course, we’ve had the opportunity to meet and talk on various occasions in various platforms, and I am glad for this opportunity to continue our conversation. I once again welcome you,” Pashinyan said.
President Duda said he is very glad to pay an official visit to Armenia. “I’d like to express deep gratitude to you, Mr. Prime Minister, as well as to the President of Armenia, for such an attitude, for creating such friendly and good relations between our peoples and states. Why am I particularly stressing this, because I’ve been President of Poland for nine and a half years and I have to say that our relations haven’t been like this before. This is very important for me,” he said.
The sides attached importance to continuous development and expansion of cooperation between Armenia and Poland in political, economic, tourism, cultural and humanitarian areas, the prime minister’s office said in a press release. The sides underscored the need for implementing consistent steps in the direction of promoting trade-economic ties. In this context, PM Pashinyan and President Duda highlighted the intensification of intergovernmental cooperation and mutual high-level visits.
Issues related to Armenia-EU partnership were also discussed. The President of Poland expressed his country’s support to the expansion of ties with the EU and implementation of democratic reforms in Armenia, and welcomed the launch of the visa liberalization dialogue.
PM Pashinyan presented to President Duda the latest developments in the discussions around the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace treaty and the principled positions of the Armenian side. PM Pashinyan underscored Armenia’s commitment to the agenda of peace.
