Armenia seeks to increase trade with EU and other markets without decreasing commerce with Eurasian Economic Union

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 18, ARMENPRESS. Armenia doesn’t seek to decrease its trade with Eurasian Economic Union countries, but wants to increase trade with the EU and other markets, PM Nikol Pashinyan has said.

“Indeed, our trade turnover with the EEU grew in the previous period and continues to grow, and this is no surprise because we are a EEU member. Therefore, the EEU market is more affordable for our production and business community compared to other markets. Honestly, we don’t see any objective of decreasing our trade turnover volumes with the EEU, but we have a task of increasing our trade volumes,  with the EU and other markets, as well as within the EEU” the Prime Minister said at the Global Armenian Summit.

He said that economic diversification implies a certain process. “This is where we are working with the EU, the U.S. and other partners for that diversification to happen,” PM Pashinyan said.
