We will decide when we leave CSTO, says Armenian Premier

YEREVAN, JUNE 12, ARMENPRESS. Armenia has frozen its participation in the work of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO). The government of Armenia will decide when to withdraw from the organization.

Pashinyan made this statement during a question-and-answer session with the government in the National Assembly.

"I think our position regarding the CSTO is very clear. We have frozen our participation in the CSTO. I said that we would decide when we leave the Collective Security Treaty Organization," said Nikol Pashinyan.

Armenia's Minister of Foreign Affairs Ararat Mirzoyan also referred to the Prime Minister's statement regarding the CSTO, answering the question of MP Sona Ghazaryan.

"A short question arose from a Telegram post that is likely Kremlin-sponsored. It is a page with a large audience, which, either through a wrong translation or intentionally, announces that the Republic of Armenia has decided to withdraw from the CSTO.

Probably, the conversation of this session was translated incorrectly. Please confirm this," asked the lawmaker.

Answering the MP's question, Ararat Mirzoyan said: "Dear Mrs. Ghazaryan, fortunately, the session has been recorded, and anyone can watch the recording at any time to check who said what. The wording you quoted is, at the very least, not true.

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia did not say that we are leaving the CSTO. The Prime Minister said that we will decide when we will leave, but we will not go back.

If anyone claims that the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia said that Armenia is leaving the CSTO, they are wrong, and this is very easy to prove.

"I repeat. We will decide when we leave, but we will not go back," the PM said.
