On April 4, by special invitation, Mehdi Sobhani, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Armenia, visited the Vahan Tekeyan Secondary School in Karbi, Aragatsotn Province.
The Ambassador participated in an annual event dedicated to the centuries-old friendship between Armenia and Iran. This event, which is both cultural and a unique test of language proficiency, is held to celebrate the ties between the two countries. At the school, Persian is taught as the third foreign language to students in grades 5-8.
The event was attended by Deputy Governor of Aragatsotn Milada Hovhannisyan, Head of the Education, Culture, and Sports Department of the Governor's Office Galust Tadevosyan, as well as the school administration and students.
According to the source, the students delivered speeches in Persian about the culture, customs, and national holidays of both Armenia and Iran, emphasizing the friendly relations between the two neighboring countries.
In his speech, Ambassador Sobhani expressed his pleasure in observing how well the Armenian students had mastered the Persian language and their awareness of Iranian culture. He emphasized that the peoples of Iran and Armenia are true friends and extended his best wishes to Armenia and the Armenian people.
Deputy Governor Milada Hovhannisyan, in turn, thanked the ambassador for his annual visits to the school, his encouragement of students studying Persian, and his role in strengthening Armenian-Iranian ties.
