The Mother See considers the statements of the Chairman of the Caucasian Muslims` Board to be false and deceitful

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 21, ARMENPRESS. The Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin referred in a statement to the statements and judgments regarding the Karabakh conflict made by Sheikh Ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazade, the Chairman of the Caucasian Muslims` Board, during the third meeting of the religious leaders of the Organization of Turkic States, considering them false and deceitful, ARMENPRESS was informed from the information department of the Mother See.

In the statement of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, it is stated: "On October 20, at the third meeting of the religious leaders of the Organization of Turkic States in Baku, which continued in the occupied Shushi, Sheikh Ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazade, the Chairman of the Caucasian Muslims` Board, once again made false and deceitful statements and judgments about the Karabakh conflict, ethnic cleansing, regarding the destruction of the Turkish-Islamic cultural-spiritual heritage, usurpation of sanctuaries, Azerbaijani pacifism and Armenian revanchism, regarding which the state and spiritual structures of the Armenian side have repeatedly given and continue giving answers and explanations. The spiritual leader of Azerbaijan didn't even bother to address accusations to the Armenian Church and in the context of false attributions, urged and gave instructions to the Holy Etchmiadzin “to guide our people to salvation, not to new atrocities”.

It is strange that after the war unleashed by Azerbaijan against the people of Artsakh in 2020 and the inhuman atrocities committed, the provocative speech of Sheikh Ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazade has not changed at all. The Chairman of the Caucasian Muslims` Board, who supposedly emphasizes the peaceful coexistence of peoples, contrary to the spirit of the messages adopted in the trilateral meetings of spiritual leaders, is at the same time silent about Azerbaijan's continued aggression, militancy and Armenophobia, invasions of the sovereign territory of Armenia, daily provocations at the borders, shelling of peaceful settlements, illegal detention of Armenian prisoners of war, and the facts of torturing, brutally depriving them of life, mutilating and desecrating the bodies of the victims, violating the right to free and independent life of our people of Artsakh, destroying and usurping the Armenian historical, cultural and spiritual heritage, which are clearly and well documented by the international community and structures.

The listed issues need quick solutions, and the humanitarian issues need the attention and mediation efforts of the spiritual leader of Azerbaijan even more. Holy Etchmiadzin calls upon Sheikh Ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazade, the Chairman of the Caucasian Muslims` Board, to take visible steps in this direction, to remove the pain and sorrow from the grieving souls, faithful to his spiritual calling and mission.
