YEREVAN, OCTOBER 20, ARMENPRESS. The government is close to making a final decision regarding the formation of a ministry of internal affairs, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at the Cabinet meeting.

He reminded that the police reforms are already ongoing.

“As a goal we prioritize the introduction of new standards in police, national security service, rescue service, state protection service. When we say standards we also mean increase of salaries,” the PM said.

Salary increase will happen in all security agencies through the certification process.

“We must realize that a state system is in place which promotes and motivates essential staffers. The system must work approximately in the following way: in the next three years, all employees who have the desire, will pass a voluntary certification process, which will lead to doubling of salaries. As a result, not only will the salaries increase, but also the standard of the work which we expect,” the PM said.
