New York-based Advanced Math School Mathico in Yerevan offers free classes to children of fallen or wounded troops

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 10, ARMENPRESS. The New York-based Mathico Advanced Math School will soon open in Yerevan, Armenia.

The classes will be in English, with the U.S. Department of Education-approved programs.

As homage to veterans, the school has announced that classes for family members of fallen or wounded Armenian troops will be free of charge, “in remembrance of those who fell to preserve the light of freedom.”

Mathico has been operating in the United States since 2012 and prepares students to apply to the country’s Top Universities and provides systematic math education, including advanced topics for motivated and talented children.

Mathico also prepares students for International Math Olympiads and Competitions, such as American Math Competitions for grades 8-12; The Harvard – MIT Mathematics Tournaments, and younger students for Space Panda Math, Math Kangaroo, MOEMS, Mathcounts, and many others.

“It’s one thing when the student is learning English, but it’s an entirely different thing when they study some other subject in English. When a subject is being taught in English language, the students start to think in English. The literature and materials are in English, reading and understanding it is not enough, the child must be able to think in that language in order to be able to succeed in whatever direction they chose,” says Samvel Sahakyan, the founder of Mathico schools.

The school in Yerevan will hold Open House Days on October 8 and 10.
