Artsakh president offers Ruben Vardanyan to become State Minister with “broad authority”

STEPANAKERT, OCTOBER 4, ARMENPRESS. President of Artsakh Arayik Harutyunyan offered Ruben Vardanyan to become the State Minister of Artsakh.

Harutyunyan said that that Vardanyan will have “broad authority in taking action and decision-making” if he accepts the offer.

“One can write very long about Ruben, his bold decisions, dedication to the homeland and nation, but today it is time to act, therefore I am waiting for his decision regarding my offer,” the president said. “This doesn’t mean that I am unhappy with incumbent State Minister Artak Beglaryan’s work, but given the existing challenges I find it necessary to unite all pan-national efforts.”

Earlier in September, Ruben Vardanyan renounced his Russian citizenship and said that was moving to Artsakh and launching the Artsakh Security and Development Front.

A week later, President Arayik Harutyunyan met with Ruben Vardanyan and welcomed his decision on moving to Artsakh.
