Lilit Makunts to be appointed Chief of Staff to the Prime Minister

Lilit Makunts will be appointed Chief of Staff to the Prime Minister of Armenia, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced during a briefing with reporters.

“Lilit Makunts will be appointed Chief of Staff to the Prime Minister,” Pashinyan said.

Makunts has served as the Prime Minister’s Chief Adviser since August 29, 2025. From 2021 to 2025, she was Armenia’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the United States.

Previously, Makunts also served as Minister of Culture and as a member of the National Assembly.

The post of Chief of Staff to the Prime Minister is currently held by Arayik Harutyunyan, who was appointed to the position on July 1, 2021.
