Catholicos Aram I holds consultations in Geneva over assisting Syrian-Armenians

YEREVAN, AUGUST 20, ARMENPRESS. His Holiness Aram I Catholicos of the Great House of Ciliciaheld consultations over assisting Armenians of Syria in Geneva, press service of the Great House of Cilicia informed “Armenpress”.

Catholicos Aram I held a meeting with UN special envoy for Syria Staffande Mistura.

Aram I also held meetings with the representatives of inter-church organizations who provide assistance to the Christian communities of Syria through the Middle East Council of Churches.

Catholicos Aram I is one of the chairmen of the Middle East Council of Churches for the last 8 years.

Aram I also met President of “Armenofas” humanitarian foundation Teny Simonian during which he emphasized the necessity of providing assistance to Syrian-Armenians.

Before departing for Geneva, Catholicos Aram I held a meeting with President of “Armenia” foundation of France Ter Petros Terzyan. Aram I expressed his satisfaction that in the past years the foundation has provided assistance to the Armenian schools of Syria at the same time underlining the necessity of continuing the assistance.
