Recognition of Genocide means acknowledging it as global crime – says Rwandan MP

YEREVAN, JUNE 15, ARMENPRESS. MP of Rwanda Musabeyezu Narcisse says the recognition of any Genocide by the international community means acknowledging the act as a global crime.

In an interview with ARMENPRESS, MP Musabeyezu Narcisse said: “When Genocide was being committed in Rwanda, the international community could have stopped it, however it did not, and when the international community acknowledges any Genocide, this means the international community’s way of thinking has changes. This means, that genocide is not only the genocide of the people of the affected country, but the whole world, meaning it is a global crime”.

On June 2 the German Bundestag adopted the "Remembrance and commemoration of the genocide of Armenians and other Christian minorities in 1915 and 1916" resolution.
