FIDE suspends Garry Kasparov for two years from all activities in FIDE

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 22, ARMENPRESS. The Ethics Commission of the International Chess Federation (FIDE) suspended for two-years the 13 world chess champion Garry Kasparov from any activity related to the organization.

“Kasparov and Leong denied the opportunity to hold any position in FIDE, including its member national federations, continental associations, affiliated organizations, and to participate in the meetings of the FIDE as a delegate, representative or member for two years" — quoted by TASS message. “Armenpress” reports the quote referring to en.news-4-u.ru.

Earlier, Kasparov and Leong were found guilty of violation of the ethical code of FIDE. Kasparov paid Leong 500 thousand dollars for the fact that Singapore had voted for him at elections of the FIDE President.
