Clothing industry grows by 7.1% in Armenia

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 6, ARMENPRESS. The volume of textile production has reduced by 15.8% forming 298 million drams (about 629 thousand USD) in January-August this year, as compared to the same period in 2014. Instead, clothing industry indexes have improved by 7.1% forming 5 billion 371.4 million AMD.

As “Armenpress” was informed by the NationalStatistical Serviceofthe Republic of Armenia 6 tons of cotton fabrics were produced during the first 8 months, 2015 (the index of the same period, last year reduced by 41.2%), 31.5 tons of carpets, tapestries (growth 5.4%), 4 million 604.3 thousand hosiery (growth 54.7%) and 2 million 595 pieces of knitwear: the index increased by 68.4%.
