Four arrested over the murder attempt on Surik Khachatryan

YEREVAN, JULY 3, ARMENPRESS. Syunik province’s Kapan dwellers Garen Artanjyan, Henrik Avagyan and Goris dwellers Vitali Minasyan, Ara Budaghyan were detained on July 3, 2015 as a result of operational-investigative actions launched by the NSS of the Repuplic of Armenia during the preliminary investigation. The detainees are suspected of being related to the assassination attempt on Syunik governor Surik Khachatryan and his companions on May 20, 2015.

As “Armenpress” was informed from the Criminal Investigation Department of the NSS of the Republic of Armenia, as a result of searches prescribed by law a big arsenal of weapons and ammunition, including “AK-74” automatic gun with bullets and magazine case, was detected in the apartments and other buildings belonging to the detained persons.

Currently, different investigative and operational activities are being implemented aimed to affirm or refute the bases for detention. Supplementary information will be givenabout the further investigation and other intermediate results.
