More than 150 thousand tourists visited Armenia

YEREVAN, MAY 31, ARMENPRESS. In the first quarter of the year the number of the tourists who visited Armenia increased by 20.5 percent. In January-March of 2014, 154 thousand 471 tourists arrived in Armenia. As "Armenpress" was informed from the National Statistical Service of the Republic of Armenia, during the same period, 162 thousand 73 people left the republic for tourism, or in comparison with January-March of 2013, the index has increased by 18.2 percent.

According to data of the hotel management reports, in January-March of 2014 the number of tourists who visited the Republic of Armenia, 32.9 percent were from the CIS countries, 29.8 percent from EU countries and 37.3 percent from other countries.

Among the CIS countries the most number of the tourists are from Russia and Ukraine. Among the EU countries most of the tourists are from the Netherlands, Italy, France, Germany and the United Kingdom. A large number of tourists come also from the U.S.A., Iran, Georgia, Turkey, Canada.
