Novak Djokovic wins Roland Garros opener

YEREVAN, MAY 29 ARMENPRESS. The world No. 1 Novak Djokovic started with a victory at Roland Garros. In the first round of the men's singles of the French Open tennis championship, Djokovic competed against Pierre-Hugues Herbert of France.

In the 2.5-hour long match, the Serbian tennis player won in three sets with a score of 6-4, 7-6, 6-4. Next, Djokovic will face the world No. 63, Roberto Carballés Baena of Spain. Roland Garros, considered one of the 4 main tennis "Grand Slam" tournaments, which will end on June 9.

The reigning champion of the tournament is Novak Djokovic.
