Deputy minister of sport praises ‘near perfect’ organization of World Sambo Championships 2023 in Yerevan

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 13, ARMENPRESS. The Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Armenia, Karen Giloyan, has praised the ‘near perfect’ organization of the World Sambo Championships 2023 in Yerevan.

Giloyan also praised the Armenian team for their good results.

“This World Sambo Championships was near perfect in terms of its organization. Certainly this kind of major events can’t be entirely flawless, but they were minimized and did not have any effect on the qualitative results,” Giloyan told reporters. He said that athletes from all over the world participating in the championships were grateful for the high-level reception. “The national sambo team of Armenia hadn't ever won this many medals as it did this time, we have five silver, five bronze, but we don’t have gold. It was definitely worth hearing the state anthem being played here, at home in Armenia,” he said.
