Azerbaijan’s attack on Nagorno-Karabakh while UN General Assembly is underway is contempt for calls to de-escalate – FM

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 19, ARMENPRESS. Azerbaijan has launched a military aggression against the people of Nagorno-Karabakh while the 78th session of the UN General Assembly is underway, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan told his Latvian counterpart Krišjānis Kariņš in New York City.

He said that Azerbaijan’s attack is open contempt for strong calls to de-escalate.

"At meeting with Lativa’s FM Krišjānis Kariņš I stressed: while UNGA78 is underway Azerbaijan started military aggression against Nagorno Karabakh people. This goes against all efforts of partners to build stability in region, is open contempt for strong calls to deescalate. International steps should follow,” FM Mirzoyan said in a post on X.
