Georgia wants to assume the role of a facilitator to strengthen peace and stability in the South Caucasus, Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili has said.
“Georgia really wants to be a facilitator with the purpose of strengthening peace and stability in the region,” Botchorishvili said during a joint press conference with Armenian FM Ararat Mirzoyan in Yerevan. “And certainly, we will express our readiness to facilitate the peace process between our neighboring countries,” she said, referring to Armenia and Azerbaijan.
She described the upcoming session of the intergovernmental economic commission between Armenia and Georgia as highly important.
“We have common interests and we both want to further develop our relations in the economy, transportation, environmental issues, tourism and other areas,” the Georgian FM said.
