Armenia and Georgia address their existing positions and priorities on various issues with respect and care befitting strategic partners, striving not only to avoid harm but also to provide maximum support for the promotion of each other’s interests.
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan made this statement during a joint press conference following his meeting with Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze in Yerevan.
According to Pashinyan, the periodic mutual visits of high-ranking representatives of Armenia and Georgia, the annual regular sessions of the intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation, the expansion of existing cooperation, and the jointly developed rich agenda are evidence of the two countries' strong friendship.
Pashinyan emphasized the establishment of a strategic partnership between Armenia and Georgia last year, stating that it “has given a new impetus to interstate relations between Armenia and Georgia.”
“I am confident that, through the joint efforts of our governments and without any restrictions, we will continue to deepen mutually beneficial and multi-sectoral cooperation,” Pashinyan said.
The intergovernmental commission has thoroughly discussed ongoing cooperation programs and new prospects for collaboration between Armenia and Georgia in various fields, including the economy, transport, communication, energy, tourism, agriculture, environment, healthcare, culture, education, and science.
"I must state that the cooperative and warm attitude of our brotherly countries is anchored in very concrete and solid realities. Armenia and Georgia mutually and unequivocally respect each other's territorial integrity and sovereignty," the Prime Minister said.
Pashinyan highlighted that economic cooperation and the interconnection between the two countries, including through the introduction of mutually necessary facilitations, are important components of the rich dialogue between Armenia and Georgia.
