Minister of Healthcare emphasizes importance of providing medical care to displaced citizens

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 5, ARMENPRESS. Minister of Healthcare of Armenia Anahit Avanesyan emphasizes the importance of providing medical care to citizens displaced as a result of military operations and deprived of their normal life.

“We should organize their ongoing medical care, their primary care services, vaccinations and routine follow-up visits. Our entire system must be able to take care of all their needs”, the minister said during the 5th Emergency Medical Teams (EMT) Global Meeting in Yerevan.

Avanesyan said that investments are constantly being made in the healthcare system aimed at strengthening it, upgrading the medical centers, as well as creating mechanisms for everyone to work jointly, coordinated and rapidly.

“We are constantly taking actions, and I want to note that these works are impossible without additional funding and our public resources. Each year we see that the healthcare spending in our budget is growing”, she stated.
