German Embassy Chargé d’Affaires “shocked” by destruction in Jermuk after Azerbaijani
bombardment

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 17, ARMENPRESS. Chargé d’Affaires of the German Embassy in Armenia Erik Tintrup is “shocked” by the destruction he saw in Jermuk, the German Embassy said in a statement.

Tintrup was among the 50 diplomats who were invited to Jermuk for the briefing by the Defense Ministry and Foreign Ministry after the Azerbaijani attack.

“Jermuk is a beautiful and peaceful resort located in beautiful nature. German tourists were here on Tuesday also. The fact that no one from the residents was killed is almost like a wonder because artillery strikes targeted restaurants and the cableway located kilometers from the border, just few hundred meters from residential buildings and hotels full of tourists,” Tintrup said after visiting the town.

The blasts were so close that a German tourist was able to take pictures. “I am extremely concerned. We emphasize with the Armenian people,” the Chargé d’Affaires said.
