Azeri false accusations of border shooting do no good for normalization process, says Armenian official

Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan said that the Azeri false accusations of border shooting do not anyhow positively impact the normalization process.

“I can clearly say that those false statements don’t anyhow positively impact the atmosphere. Nonetheless, we have said that we are ready to start negotiations about the venue and timeframes of signing the [peace] agreement and we are now awaiting a response from the Azeri side,” Kostanyan told reporters.

Asked whether a third party would be involved in the signing process, Kostanyan emphasized that the talks have been held bilaterally. “As you know, the discussions and negotiations took place bilaterally, at this moment there are no other details,” he said, adding that the foreign ministry will issue updates in case of any news.
