Armenia is a bright point of democracy among OGP countries, says Sanjay Pradhan

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 30, ARMENPRESS. Armenia is considered to be a bright and luminous point of democracy among the 79 member countries of the Open Government Partnership (OGP), OGP CEO Sanjay Pradhan said during the OGP-Armenia working group meeting in Yerevan.

“Armenia’s non-violent, velvet revolution was a big signal which was given by citizens and expressed the will of the citizens to carry out changes in the country,” he said.

According to him, the next step for Armenia should be raising citizens’ trust towards the government, and the true economic and legal reforms can contribute to this.

He said that Armenia is exemplary in the implementation of OGP commitments.

Pradhan also highlighted the expansion of the circle of targeted commitments in the next action plan.

He also expressed readiness to support Armenia in the implementation of judiciary, anti-corruption and economic reforms.
