YEREVAN, AUGUST 15, ARMENPRESS. On August 14, 1991 Lithuania became the first country to recognize the independence of the Republic of Armenia.

“August 14th is a historic day in the Armenian-Lithuanian relations, since it was on this day 28 years ago when Lithuania became the first country to recognize the independence of the Republic of Armenia,” the Embassy of Armenia to Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia said in a Facebook post.

Armenia and Lithuania established diplomatic relations on November 21, 1991.
