Pashinyan, Erdoğan welcome increased Armenia–Türkiye engagement

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, during their phone call on June 2, exchanged views on the bilateral agenda and lauded the intensification of engagements, the Prime Minister’s Office said in a readout.

Pashinyan extended Kurban Bayramı (Eid al-Adha) greetings, while Erdoğan congratulated the Armenian Prime Minister on his 51st birthday, which he marked on June 1.

The two leaders also highlighted the recent visit by Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz to Armenia for the European Political Community summit, the decision to define procedures for direct trade between Armenia and Türkiye, as well as the opening of the Akhalkalaki–Kars railway for Armenian exports and imports.
