Armenian deputy PM, Chinese Ambassador discuss implementation of new programs in energy and transport fields

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 28, ARMENPRESS. Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan on February 28 received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Armenia Tian Erlong, the deputy PM’s Office told Armenpress.

At the meeting the Armenian deputy PM said the government attaches great importance to the productive and mutually beneficial cooperation with China and will continue taking practical steps to further develop the bilateral ties.

The sides discussed issues on further deepening and expanding the Armenian-Chinese commercial relations and in this regard highlighted the activities of the Armenian-Chinese inter-governmental commission the next session of which will take place in the nearest future. The officials thoroughly discussed the opportunities to increase the export volumes of Armenian food industry and alcoholic products to China, as well as the implementation of new programs in energy and transportation sectors. In the context of promoting the contacts between the tourism and business circles, they attached importance to the facilitation of the visa regime between the two countries.

During the meeting the sides also touched upon Armenia’s possible participation to the 2nd China International Import Expo to take place in Shangai in November.
