YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 9, ARMENPRESS. Defense minister of Armenia Davit Tonoyan on February 9 met with Commander of the Southern Military District of the Russian Armed Forces, Colonel-General Alexander Dvornikov in Moscow on the sidelines of his working visit, Armenian defense ministry spokesperson Artsrun Hovhannisyan said on Facebook, reports Armenpress.
During the meeting the sides discussed issues relating to the Armenian-Russian military cooperation, regional security, the activity of the Russian 102nd military base deployed in Armenia, combat readiness and service organization.
Taking into account the fact that the Russian Southern Military District troops operate in Syria, the two officials discussed the activity of the Armenian humanitarian mission group in Aleppo.
Davit Tonoyan and Alexander Dvornikov stated that 2019 is going to be a year full of joint events and military exercises.
