Tendency of return of Syrian-Armenian refugees from Lebanon to Aleppo realized

YEREVAN, JUNE 8, ARMENPRESS. There is a tendency of return of Syrian-Armenian refugees from Lebanon to Aleppo, Shahan Gantaharyan, editor-in-chief of Lebanon-based ‘Aztag’ daily, told a press conference in Armenpress.

“Currently the situation is relatively calm in Aleppo. Some Syrian-Armenians already return to the city. Of course, it is not at a large-scale, however, there are people who return. Some people continue consistently resettling in their homeland”, he said.

As for the number of Armenians settled in Lebanon from Syria, Shahan Gantaharyan said in total they are about 10.000 people, but it is changing. Lebanon is the first destination for Syrian refugees, from where they move to other countries.
