7 dead in Iran parliament shooting – unconfirmed report

YEREVAN, JUNE 7, ARMENPRESS. According to the Iranian Tasnim news agency, the death toll in the country’s parliament shooting has risen to 7, while 4 others are being held hostage.

Tasnim said the death toll isn’t officially confirmed yet.

According to local media, one of the attackers is still shooting outside the building, after successfully escaping the parliament.

Earlier it was reported that 4 gunmen had stormed into the Iranian parliament and opened random gunfire. 8 people were wounded and a security officer was shot dead.

A similar attack happened afterwards in the Ayatollah Khomeini mausoleum. According to reports, at least one gunman entered the mausoleum and opened gunfire, and afterwards detonated a bomb.
