Tehran will prioritize strengthening relations with its neighbors. Masoud Pezeshkian

YEREVAN, JULY 13, ARMENPRESS․ The newly elected President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, in the article “My message to the new world,” emphasized that Tehran will prioritize strengthening relations with its neighbors, the message of the newly elected Iranian President was published in the Tehran Times newspaper.

 President Pezeshkian noted that Iran supports the creation of a “strong region,” rather than a region where one country seeks to achieve dominance and superiority over others.

 He expressed confidence that neighboring and fraternal states should not waste their valuable resources on destructive competition, arms race and unjustified containment of each other. Pezeshkian emphasized that Iran will instead seek to create an environment in which resources are directed toward the development and progress of the region for the benefit of all.

“We look forward to working with Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Iraq, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, the UAE, and regional organizations to deepen our ties and address common challenges,” the president said in the article, adding that his administration would encourage neighboring Arab countries to cooperate and use all political and diplomatic levers to prioritize a permanent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip to end the carnage and prevent the conflict from spreading. In the article, the President of Iran also touched upon the Russian-Ukrainian conflict and noted that Tehran is trying to achieve peace between the peoples of Russia and Ukraine, Iran will support initiatives aimed at this.

 “China and Russia have supported us in difficult times, and we deeply value this friendship. Russia is a valued strategic ally and neighbor of Iran, and my administration will continue to expand and strengthen our cooperation,” Pezeshkian wrote.

Speaking about the region, the newly elected Iranian President noted that the region has long suffered from wars, sectarian conflicts, terrorism, extremism, drug trafficking, water shortages, refugee crisis, environmental degradation and foreign interference. 

“The time has come to solve these common problems for the benefit of future generations; Cooperation will be the guiding principle of our foreign policy,” the Iranian President emphasized in his message.
