We should carry out joint harmonious work with our spiritual brothers and organize the election of Armenian Patriarch of Istanbul in peaceful and brotherly atmosphere, Patriarchal locum tenens Archbishop Garegin Bekchian said at the 6th Church-Representative Assembly in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin chaired by His Holiness Catholicos of All Armenians Garegin II, reports Armenpress.

“Today is a historical day since after the National Church meeting the Church-Representative Assembly is being held to approve the orders and rules of our church and to prosper it not only in Armenia but also in Diaspora. During those years every time I visit the Mother See of Hoy Etchmiadzin I gradually realize progress and see what great work has been carried out within the Mother See. As for my election as locum tenens, this election was a little late, but the important thing is not the past, but the upcoming days, the future”, Bekchian said.
