President Sargsyan hosts St. Petersburg Governor Georgy Poltavchenko

YEREVAN, MAY 5, ARMENPRESS. President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan on May 5 hosted Governor of St. Petersburg GeorgyPoltavchenko who arrived in Armenia on the sidelines of “St. Petersburg Days in Yerevan” program, press service of the President’s Office told Armenpress.
The President welcomed the guest and attached importance to the traditional event on holding ST. Petersburg days in Yerevan, and vice versa, which, according to him, is a useful and effective platform to discuss issues relating to expanding the cooperation between the two cities.
Serzh Sargsyan stated that the cooperation with the Russian regions is the most important component of the Armenian-Russian dynamically developing inter-state relations and said with satisfaction that the relations between the two strategic allied states at a decentralized level are strengthening and deepening every year.
In his turn Governor GeorgyPoltavchenko thanked the President for the reception and highly appreciated the level of relations between St. Petersburg and Yerevan which is due to the work carried out by both sides in a number of fields, including also the certain increase of trade turnover.
At the meeting the sides also discussed the ways and prospects on developing the bilateral mutual partnership.
St. Petersburg Governor and Mayor of Yerevan, who also attended the meeting, expressed readiness to consistently continue the work on developing and deepening the relations between the two cities.
