President Sargsyan holds consultation on anti-corruption reforms

YEREVAN, MAY 4, ARMENPRESS. President Serzh Sargsyan on May 4 held a working consultation during which the activity and the interim results of the working group formed with the purpose to ensure institutional system reforms in the Anti-Corruption field, as well as the preparation of anti-corruption draft laws were discussed, press service of the President’s Office told Armenpress.

The President was introduced on a number of issues related to the status of a new anti-corruption body, its formation and functions, independence guarantees, as well as issues related to the budget financing.

During the consultation an importance was attached to the complete settlement of fundamental issues related to the effective prevention of corruption, such as the analysis of assets and income declarations of public officials and their credibility check, provision of additional information for that purpose, strengthening of the cooperation with law enforcement agencies on revealing illegal enrichment cases, as well as prevention of conflicts of interest through an installation of interests declaration mechanisms.

Based on the consultation results, instructions were given to the head of a working group, the dates for completing the draft preparation works were clarified.
