YEREVAN, MARCH 15, ARMENPRESS. Armenia is in favor of all states and organizations of the world cooperating with Turkey. In this case Turkey might perhaps become more predictable, President Sargsyan said in Moscow’s State Institute of International Relations, in response to a students’ question on the latest developments in the Russian-Turkish relations, Armenpress correspondent reported.
“We don’t have hatred towards the Turkish people. We accuse the Turkish leadership in denying the Genocide, and the denial of the Genocide is the continuation of that crime against humanity”, the President said. He reminded that Russia has recognized the Armenian Genocide, for which Armenia is grateful to Russia.
“Therefore, the Russian-Turkish relations don’t bother us too much. The fact that there were several articles, perhaps special articles, that people began to make hand movements in Armenia when the Turks shot down the Russian plane, as if we were glad, however in reality that isn’t so. During our entire history we had problems when big powers clashed. Secondly, no war is justified, no clash brings any good. The only justified war is when you are forced to defend yourself, for example in the case of Nagorno Karabakh – no one there wanted war, however neither did they want to die. I think the better the Russian-Turkish relations are, the better it is for us”, he said.
