YEREVAN, MARCH 2, ARMENPRESS. President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan on March 2 received the delegation led by Drago Azinovic – President of Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa Region at Philip Morris International Management SA and PMI Duty Free, press service of the President’s Office told “Armenpress”.
President Sargsyan welcomed the PMI representatives in Armenia and said the establishment of Research and Development Center (R&D) by the company will receive support both from Armenia’s technological centers, as well as from Gyumri’s technological center. The Armenian public will also welcome it since the Armenian people have always put attention on innovations by trying to bring the advanced mind to Armenia and localize it. Serzh Sargsyan said now than ever before the research and developments, as well as science and technologies play a decisive role for Armenia’s progress and development, and the development of technology field is always in the spotlight of the Government.
In his turn Drago Azinovic thanked the President for the reception and presented the recent achievements of the delegation led by him, the investment and innovative programs aimed at presenting such products that decrease the damage caused by tobacco. “I am happy that Armenia attaches great attention to the development of technologies and people. Encouraging people to display their talents and the technology development, you create an opportunity for your country’s development and for being included in the list of world’s leading countries later. We are very happy for this approach and the readiness to cooperate”, Drago Azinovic said, stating that the PMI will be consistent with fulfilling the commitment set under the framework memorandum of understanding signed today with the Government.
