Weather to get warmer from February 5 - chief weatherman

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 1, ARMENPRESS. The current cyclone which has reached Armenia will become weaker after midday, which will result in snowfalls ending in almost all provinces, Gagik Surenyan, head of the meteorological center of the Hydromet Service said on Facebook.

According to him, snowfalls will continue during the upcoming night only in Vayots Dzor and Syunik provinces, as well as in Nagorno Karabakh.

From midday February 2 until February 6 clear weather is expected in all provinces of Armenia.

“Cold arctic air currents will reach Armenia tonight, which will result in a 10-15 degree decrease of temperature, especially at nighttime on February 2 and 3”, Surenyan said. The coldest temperature is expected during the nights of February 2 and February 3, reaching -25….-30 in Shirak, Kotayk, Gegharkunik, Aragatsotn and Vayots Dzor provinces.

In Yerevan, the temperature is expected to be -23…-25 in the lower altitude and -16…..-18 in the higher altitude.

According to Surenyan, warm air currents will reach Armenia from February 5, which will result in gradual increase of temperature.
