President Sargsyan receives General Director of Russia’s State Hermitage

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 13, ARMENPRESS. President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan on December 13 hosted General Director of the State Hermitage of Russia Mikhail Piotrovsky who has arrived in Armenia by the invitation of Yerevan Mayor, press service of the Presidential administration told “Armenpress”.
His son Boris Piotrovsky also took part in the meeting.
The President welcomed Mikhail Piotrovsky’s in Yerevan.
President Sargsyan highly appreciated the readiness and efforts of the Hermitage leadership to develop the cooperation in the cultural sector, one of the evidence of which is the cooperation agreement on examining the archeological materials of the Red Hill to be signed today with the Ministry of Culture.
Serzh Sargsyan emphasized that a special importance is attached to the cultural component in the Armenian-Russian strategic inter-state relations, and he is happy that by such initiative these relations are strengthening year by year.
Mikhail Piotrovsky expressed gratitude for the invitation, warm reception and for the erection of memorial plague in Yerevan dedicated to the memory of his father Boris Piotrovsky.
Mikhail Piotrovsky introduced the President the upcoming events within the framework of cooperation with Armenia’s Culture Minister, including also the event of Hermitage Days to be held in Yerevan.
