YEREVAN, OCTOBER 17, ARMENPRESS. President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan received on October 17 the Minister of Interior Affairs of the Russian Federation VladimirKolokoltsev, who has arrives in Armenia to attend the 17th session of the united board of the Police of Armenia and the Ministry of Interior Affairs of Russia, “Armenpress” was informed from the press service of the Armenian President’s Office.
The close cooperation between the law enforcement bodies of Armenia and the RF, and the regular meeting of the united board of the Police of Armenia and the Ministry of Interior Affairs of Russia were mutually highlighted.
Stating that Armenia attaches great importance to security issues and counter-measuring different demonstrations of organized crime, President Sargsyan spotlighted combination of efforts in that direction, as well as holding regular expert meetings. According to the President, the rising terrorist threat in the world, weapon smuggling, illegal drug transportations and other forms of crime are a serious security threats and constant partnership is required for counter measuring them.
The Russian Minister of Interior Affairs thanked for hosting the regular meeting of the board in Armenia on a high level, and mentioned that the existing high level political dialogue between Russia and Armenia and the agreements reached between the presidents of the two allied states foster and encourage deepening cooperation on the expert level, working in a sincere atmosphere of mutual trust.
