President Serzh Sargsyan visits Embassy of Argentina on the occasion of Argentine Independence Day

YEREVAN, JULY 11, ARMENPRESS. President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan visited the Embassy of Argentina in Armenia on July 11 on the occasion of the Argentine Independence Day.
President Sargsyan congratulated Ambassador Gonzalo Urriolabeitia, the Embassy’s staff and the Argentine people, wishing further prosperity to the friendly Argentina, new successes, and to Ambassador Urriolabeitia - significant achievements in the strengthening of Armenian-Argentine relations.
The President expressed assurance that through the practical steps of the country’s leadership aimed at progress in different fields Argentina will continue having its significant role in both regional and international processes.
“ I am sure, our inter-governmental relations – based on mutual trust – will continue developing upwards, having achievements which will even more deepen and strengthen mutual cooperation”, President Sargsyan said.
Serzh Sargsyan noted with satisfaction that the close Armenian-Argentine cooperation is reflected with special attitude towards issues of vital significance for each other. In this context the President highly appreciated Argentina’s impartial stance in the Nagorno Karabakh issue, as well as the significant contribution of Argentina’s leadership and people in the international recognition and condemnation of the Armenian Genocide.
President Sargsyan and the Ambassador of Argentina highlighted the importance of active political dialogue and high level mutual visits for the dynamic development of bilateral relations.
Both sides affirmed the fact that Armenia and Argentina have opened the regional first embassies in each others’ capitals speaks to the strong Armenian-Argentine friendship.
Ambassador Urriolabeitia especially stressed the importance of the Armenian-Argentine community’s role in the development of inter-governmental relations.
“The relations between our peoples have an even longer history, than the period of establishment of diplomatic ties between our countries. During the heavy time period for the Armenian people which was due to historical realities, when a part of the people found refuge in Argentina, was able to demonstrate its positive aspects in a short period of time, ear great respect and integrate into the Argentine society and have its contribution in the country’s development”, the Ambassador of Argentina said.
He thanked President Sargsyan for the visit, congratulations and warm words.
