YEREVAN, JUNE 11, ARMENPRESS. President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan on June 11 hosted the members of the European Youth Forum Council who arrived in Armenia to hold the regular meeting of the Council, press service of the Presidential administration informed “Armenpress”.
The President welcomed the guests and expressed hope the EYF Yerevan meeting will be productive, the youth will have an opportunity to get acquainted with the Armenian historical and cultural heritage, they will have new friends in Armenia which will promote the close cooperation between the young people of the member states of the organization.
“I would like to say I always enjoy meeting the representatives of the European organization, and the youth, in general, since it is the shortest and the most productive way to get to know about the vision of the new generation. Your mission to promote youth’s participation and to support raising their role in all sectors of the European public life is in compliance with our policy. That’s why we always welcome the Armenian youth organizations’ participation and involvement in the works of the pan-European structures since our values are part of the European values.
“I am very happy to see you in Armenia. I hope your work will be productive”, the President stated and expressed his willingness to answer the questions by the attendees.
The EYF Council representatives introduced the President their activities, goals, and asked the President how the youth of Armenia is involved and makes contribution to the decisions and reforms in Armenia, what the state does for increasing the youth’s role in state policies, for their education and providing jobs for them.
The participants of the meeting stressed the importance of peace and stability in the region and in the world, in general, in order to provide secured present and future for the youth.
The participants were alsointerested in the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement process and the issues of youth caused by the conflict.
The Armenian President answered in detail youth’s questions, and wished them success in the future.
