Serzh Sargsyan: Armenia – OSCE cooperation creates mutual trust

YEREVAN, APRIL 14, ARMENPRESS. President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan received the newly appointed head of the Yerevan office of OSCE Ambassador Argo Avakov on April 14.
As “Armenpress” was informed by the Department of Public Relations and Mass Media of the Presidential Administration, the President congratulated Argo Avakov on his appointment and expressed confidence that his long years of experience will contribute to the effective fulfillment of his mission. Serzh Sargsyan noted that the effective cooperation between Armenia and the OSCE office has created an atmosphere of mutual trust, and expressed hope that the newly appointed Head of the office will contribute to the further strengthening and expanding of relations within the OSCE framework.
Argo Avakov assured that during his tenure he will do everything possible to further develop and deepen the already high level cooperation. According to Avakov, the OSCE Yerevan Office will continue cooperating with the Armenian leadership and socio-political organizations in favor of the ongoing reforms in Armenia.
The sides exchanged views on the Constitutional Reforms in Armenia, in particular on the adoption of a new Electoral Code and the cooperation with OSCE regarding this. Ongoing projects of the OSCE in Armenia were also discussed during the meeting.
