YEREVAN, DECEMBER 25, ARMENPRESS. According to Deputy Director of Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute Suren Manukyan, the year displayed that the AGMI is the best place in the world to carry out observations on Armenian Genocide. The museum has the largest archive and collection of literature on that theme, which is impossible to find even in the best libraries of the world. “Armenpress” reports that Suren Manukyan started his speech with this remark at the final press conference of the year. In this context he highlighted the educational scholarships provided for doing research under the auspices of the Institute. “It is not a surprise that many foreigners come here to do scientific observations here. We initiated “Raphael Lemkin” scholarship for this purpose which gives foreign scientists an opportunity to do a research in the museum and other archives and libraries of Armenia”, Suren Manukyan said. In his words, the year was unprecedented in terms of holding symposiums on the theme of the Armenian Genocide. “Nearly 60 symposiums were held in the world. But I will particularly single out the 12th conference of international association of genocide scholars held in Armenia. It is the most important symposium for specialists in this field, because it not only sums up the works done, but also the results of the researches are presented and the trends of scientific development are outlined. And the fact that the AGNI hosted the symposium speaks about the reputation of our museum”, Suren Manukyan stated. He attached importance to the fact that the researchers of AGMI partook in international symposiums on genocides in Copenhagen, Chicago, New York, Berlin, Edinburgh, Siena, Buenos Aires, Moscow, Riga, Los Angeles and other cities. “AGMI published nearly 70 literary units from 2011-2015: collections in Armenian, Russian, English and French, monographies and books”, Deputy Director of Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute informed.
