Concert dedicated to centennial of Armenian Genocide held in Forlì, Italy

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 19, ARMENPRESS. Emilia Romagna Festival held in the concert hall of San Domenico in Forlì, Italy on Sept. 16 closed with the performance of “Hover” State Chamber Choir led by Sona Hovhannisyan. As “Armenpress” was informed from the Department of Press, Information and Public Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, before the concert Armenian Ambassador to Italy Sargis Ghazaryan had a meeting with the mayor of Forlì, Davide Drei, and discussed the possibilities of developing Armenian-Italian relations at the level of local self-government bodies.

Mayor of Forli, Davide Drei and Ambassador Sargis Ghazaryan gave welcoming speeches at the opening of the concert. Ambassador Ghazaryan spoke about the essence of the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocides, centuries-long friendship of Armenian and Italian people and the Armenian-Italian community. In his speech Davide Drei attached importance to the prevention of genocides emphasizing the necessity of preservation of memories for that purpose.

Works of Armenian and Western composers were played at the concert.
