Francois Hollande awards Mark Moogalian with France’s highest prize

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 14, ARMENPRESS. Armenian professor at the Sorbonne Mark Moogalian, who was the first to wrestle a weapon from the Paris-Brussels train gunman on August 21, was awarded with France’s highest prize for bravery by French President Francois Hollande. “Armenpress” reports that the press secretaryof the Ministry ofForeign Affairsof the Republic of Armenia, Tigran Balayan informed about this on his Twitter page.

Mark Moogalian, 51, was the first to wrestle gunmen Ayoub El-Khazzaniduring the August incident.

He had tried to neutralize the terrorist by grasping the rifle. According to Moogalian’s sister, he got penetrating gunshot wound while attacking the terrorist. Moogalian was taken to hospital and is still under the control of doctors.

After, three citizens of the USA managed to neutralize the terrorist.
