YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 9, ARMENPRESS. On September 9 the President of the Republic of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, sent a condolence telegram to the Muradyans family on the occasion of the demise of the honorary citizen of Yerevan and Gyumri, former Yerevan Mayor, prominent statesman Murad Muradyan.
“Murad Muradyan greatly contributed to the progress of Armenia, particularly to the development of Yerevan and Gyumri, by his long-term activities. He was awarded with high prizes of the motherland.
He effectively continued his patriotic activities during the years of Armenia’s independence as well; he was the President of Pardon Commission under the President of the Republic of Armenia for many years.
