American Armenians call on Obama and Congress to support Syrian Armenians

WASHINGTON, JULY 20, ARMENPRESS. Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA) calls American Armenians not to stay neutral to what is happening in the Middle East and to apply to the President of the USA and Congress with a demand to support Syrian Armenians living in Syria. As “Armenpress” reports, petition is launched in the official website of ANCA in relation to it.

The letter calls on Americans to press the American Government over the issue if the humanitarian aid provided by the USA and international community reach Syrian Armenians or other jeopardized citizens.

The USA can support Syrian Armenians in Armenia as well. “Thousands of Syrian Armenians have returned to their mother land, while Armenia has received very little international aid as a country hosting refugees. Therefore, the USA can stand by Armenia in this regard; support Syrian Armenians regarding social services, finding a job, managing health problems, talking training”, is mentioned in the letter.

ANCA calls to sign the letters and to address them both to the President Barack Obama and their representative in Congress selected by their president.
