Diaspora Armenians participate in “Diaspora summer school 2015” in motherland

YEREVAN, JULY 10, ARMENPRESS. Numerous Diaspora Armenians are in Armenia from 17 countries to participate in the program of the Ministry of Diaspora “Diaspora summer school 2015”. In the cultural center of YSU took place the official opening of the program.

The Minister of Diaspora of the Republic of Armenia mentioned that except the “Haigazian” University of Lebanon there are no centers in Diaspora where cadres can be trained.

“For that reason we discussed and created the “Diaspora summer school 2015” on the governmental platform. The school has 6 directions and we are enlarging them. For us teaching Armenian, both Eastern and Western, is priority. We particularly highlight the importance of training of the teachers”, As informs “Armenpress”,mentioned the Minister of Diaspora of the Republic of Armenia.

Hranush Hakobyan mentioned that the results are positive, the participants get trainings, study in the homeland. “The teachers carry their mission much better when they discover their homeland. This becomes a huge school for exchanging experience. One learns from the other”, added the Minister. The Minister stressed that about 110 people take an express course of the Armenian language.

Rector of YSU Aram Simonyan welcomed the participants of the program. “We are proud that the Ministry chose us as a partner for implementing the “Diaspora summer school 2015” program. I want to specially welcome the members of the group studying the Armenian language. Knowing Armenian means to know one of the main tools of our identity. We will try to discover the secrets of the Armenian language together with you”, mentioned Aram Simonyan wishing good luck to the participants of the program.
