Turkey’s Deputy Prime Minister speaks about Armenian-Turkish relations

YEREVAN, JUNE 13, ARMEPRESS. The Deputy Prime Minister of Turkey Bülent Arınç participated in the commencement ceremony of the Armenian seminary of the Holy Cross (Surb Khach) in Üsküdar (Scutari) reflecting on the issue of the Armenian-Turkish relations, the Armenian Genocide and the Armenian community in Turkey. As Armenpress reports, Turkish Haberler.com informs about this.

Reflecting on the issue of the Armenian Genocide which took place during the years of World War II in the Ottoman Empire, Arınç repeated in the words which have already become common for Turkish officials that what happened was very tragic and all the parties felt the damage. The Deputy Prime Minister of Turkey expressed a wish for the two countries to restore diplomatic relations.

Arınç stated, “I am sure that one day Armenia’s Prime Minister and ministers will be here at a similar commencement ceremony and we may be able sustain certain interactions more calmly, jointly and in a friendly manner”. He called the Armenians living in Turkey an inseparable part of the country.
